How to measure your fence

What is a linear foot?

A linear foot is just the length of your fence in a straight line. If your backyard is 50 feet wide, that is 50 linear feet of fence.

Step 1: Type your address

Tap the box labeled "Property address" and type your home address.

Step 2: Aim at your first point

On the photo you will see a small sight in the middle of the screen.

Step 3: Drop the pin

With the sight on the point, tap anywhere on the photo.

Step 4: Keep going, one point at a time

Drag the photo again until the sight is on the next point, then tap again.

Step 5: Made a mistake? Fix it easily

Under the map there are 3 buttons to fix your drawing.

Step 6: Add your gates (if you need any)

Tap "+ Add a gate", choose the drawing that matches your gate, then tap on your fence line where it goes.

Step 7: Finish and see your price

Tap the green button "Review my measurements" when your fence is complete.

Tips

Measure where the fence will actually go, not where you wish it went.

Include space for gates. A single gate needs about 4 feet.
